The REDD+ Resource newsletter has moved to a new quarterly distribution schedule to bring even more high-quality REDD+ and forest-related news to you periodically. The revived fortnightly Roundup will keep you up to date in the meanwhile.

The Head of UN Environment Erik Solheim shares his view on balancing food production and forest protection in the first Perspectives article of this newsletter. The Minister of Environment in Colombia Luis Gilberto Murillo provides his Perspective on his Government's new initiative: 'Forests - Territories of Life,' while acknowledging the work done by the UN-REDD Programme to support Colombia fight deforestation.

One of the seven articles in the Stories section, a journey across Mongolia, brings to life the mitigation and adaptation potential of the country's vast boreal forest resources. Another article gives an insider's view of the process that took place in India to distribute funds to preserve and maintain the nation's forest resources for future generations.

On Country Advances, see how Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Uganda, Colombia, Bangladesh and the Solomon Islands have made progress during the last three months.

We have changed the New Reading section to Forest News and expanded its scope: it now provides you an overview of current developments related to REDD+ and forests. And if you are a 'visual' person, you will probably enjoy the videos highlighted by this newsletter - especially the one on fighting peatland fires in Indonesia.

Browse this issue of the newsletter and stay informed of the latest global developments related to REDD+.
