Target Forest

Definition

A forest ecosystem which defines the goals of a forest restoration program in terms of tree species composition, structure, and biodiversity levels etc.; usually the nearest surviving patch of primary forest, remaining in the landscape, at a similar elevation, slope, aspect etc. to those of the restoration site.
