Safeguards
Definition
"A measure taken to protect someone or something or to prevent something undesirable" (i.e. do no harm). They have wide remit and can apply to a project, set of projects or more widely to programmes as well as act as policies. In the REDD+ context, see "Cancun Safeguards", which also explicitly seek to enhance environmental and social benefits (i.e. do good).
