Forest management

Definition

A branch of forestry concerned with the management (or sustainable management, as opposed to destructive logging) of existing forests. In the context of a carbon project, this is usually in order to enhance carbon stocks in the forest. This is different from afforestation and reforestation, although it equally represents a sink activity.
