Development Without Conflict - FPIC

A World Resources Institute (WRI) report on FPIC with 4 case studies involving local communities affected by private sector development projects: Malampaya Deep Water Gas-to-Power Project in the Philippines, Esquel Gold Project in Argentina, Samut Prakarn Wastewater Management Project in Thailand, and Minera Yanacocha Gold Mine Project in Peru. The report makes a business case for FPIC.

The Malampaya project is the only case executed with a successful FPIC process. When contrasted with the other three cases, very clear "best practices" emerge. This case study has also been extracted and is posted as an independent document in ths folder.
