Partnerships

The UN-REDD Programme will work together with other REDD actors such as the UNFCCC Secretariat, regional development banks, bilateral donors, research institutions, NGOs and potential REDD investors, thus maximizing efficiency and the effectiveness of the organizations’ collective input.

In order to ensure complementarity with other ongoing and planned REDD initiatives, the UN-REDD Programme is cooperating closely with the World Bank’s Forest Carbon Partnership Facility and will also collaborate with the Global Environment Facility Tropical Forest Account, and other initiatives such as Australia’s International Forest Carbon Initiative and the Collaborative Partnership on Forests.

Report from FCPF Meeting in Guyana

The Forest Carbon Partnership Facility’s (FCPF) sixth Participants Committee meeting, which took place in Georgetown, Guyana at the end of June, reviewed and assessed the Readiness Preparation Proposals (R-PPs) of Argentina, Costa Rica, Kenya, Nepal and the Republic of Congo, and allocated $17.2 million to assist them in executing the contents of their R-PPs and to prepare for REDD+.
